Truck Trubs

So So much has happened recently.

I know you are all dying to know how the yard sale went....

Well!

We made about $200 and got rid of lots of stuff- although we still had tons left.

My friend S came over Sunday with her two girls Frodo (not her real name! But her real name does come from those books...) who is 2 months older than Miss D and Baby M. We don't get to hang out all that often, usually about once a month. The last time Frodo and Miss D interacted a little bit and this time there was even more. It is so cool to see them playing together!

Sunday night, TR and I had a VERY productive recording session so I was feeling pretty good when I got in the truck and turned the ignition....and nothing happened. A glance down showed me my own stupidity. Yes. I left the lights on. In my defense, it was twilight when I drove over there- but gah.

Luckily Mr. Jones lives in the neighborhood and he lent me his car so I wouldn't have to ride the train and bus home with all my recording gear. Last night, after a delicious Monday BBQ session with Mr. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. H, Mr. J and I drove Beverly(as his old volvo is named) up to Rogers Park to give the truck a jump. After a couple of mis-starts (sparks flying!) and a number of calls to husband for advice, we were unsuccessful. So I drove Bev's home and Husband and I will be going back again after work today to try putting in a new battery. (sigh)

Stuff like this always suks- but it double suks when you have nothing to blame but your stupid self.

Sorry about the truck trubs...and doubly sorry about the reason for it.

Don't beat yourself up too much! hey, if that's the first time you've left the lights on you're doing pretty ok! I almost left the office without my keys AGAIN last night if it's any consolation.

And that is sweet money from the yard sale! that's totally a day trip while you're here.

yeah- except we will be spending it on a new car battery among other things....

I feel your pain, MR. I somehow missed seeing a credit card bill and got whapped with a big fee this month. We'll always make mistakes, but it hurts more when we know it could have been avoided, if only we were perfect people. Urgh...

Oh, so, so lame, Steffie. Why is always when you manage to get a small windfall that something befalls you to take it all away? :(

Must be something in the air with car batteries. I recommend going to NTB's website for some education before buying a battery. The one I just bought, I insisted on seeing the date it was made/charged and then verified that was the battery they put in. They'll give you the oldest battery they have in stock if you don't. Mine was April '07! Whoo-hoo!
