First Snowman

When it is not snowing it is below 0 here and we are all pretty over the winter wonderland. Except the child that is. Last week we managed to get some heavy, wet snow. Unpleasant to shovel, but perfect to make a snowman. Miss D and I have been talking about making one for weeks but most of the snow we have gotten had been too powdery up to this point.
Miss D picked out all the facial accoutrement before we walked out of the house. Two grapes for eyes, a carrot nose and 2 almonds for a mouth. I asked if she would reconsider a few more almonds but she felt strongly that two would do the trick.

and she was right.

Yay!! I thought more almonds would be needed too, but she was right. Good call kid.

I threw many a snowball that day by the way. No tree was safe from my snowballing terror!

I need to borrow Miss D for sledding. My dad got us a new sled that I'm dying to use and Charlie just doesn't like the snow pants or the snow. I don't get it.

A Miss D-sized snowman. Perfect! We don't usually have enough snow around here to do things like that.

One thing about the Dukes, strongly held opinions - totally unlike her parents

Jesus H Christ, she's enormous! What have you been feeding her since December?
