Spring Prada

The thing about becoming stylistically aware is that it is an ongoing process. It's not like you go shopping once and then it's over! now that the winter sales are done, a girl's thoughts turn to spring. (As the snow is gusting outside, but nevermind) Happily, I now have the perfect coat- but what about the rest? I am in love with Prada for spring.

Voluminous skirts, and 50's style shapes (cinched waists) are coming back and I am all about it!

I love everything about this outfit from the prints to the sleeves. Of course it would be a little extreme to dress like this for the office. But it will be easy enough to pull some ideas from these images and incorporate them one or two at a time.

The best thing about my spring ideas is that I will hopefully be able to pick up some of it thrifting (a la Renee Michelle!) Here's the beginning of my list:

red pumps
swing skirts
spring dresses (light for layering)
short-sleeved white cardigan (to wear over summery, bare shoulder dresses)
wide leg pants (!)

Oh good Lord woman, don't dress like them!! Yikes. I think I'd walk on the other side of the street if I saw someone wearing either of those outfits coming towards me!

I'm happy to provide inspiration. You've done the same for me: I've been trying to gussy up my wardrobe since I saw what you've been working on.

Actually I OWN pleated khakis and WOULD wear them, but I've stuck to jeans mostly lately. Pleats are still good though!

I'm not sure the cinched waist would work on me at this level of age deprived shape.

wow, girl - your shopping list. Do you have ANY clothes? You sound like you are starting from scratch!

Not that that isn't fun! :)
