Here's a really interesting article on whether or not it is appropriate to introduce your teenager to wine. I know where I would fall on this issue. how about you?
whenever you make anything forbidden I think you add a whole layer of complication, especially in relations between parent/authority and adolescent/testing-authority. Depends on the kid, but having lived in France and gotten drunk NUMEROUS times will all of the families I lived with, I tend to feel it's safest to take alcohol off the taboo list.
I agree with the doc. I'm planning on having a young'n at some point and around 12-13 or so, I'm definitely introducing them to alcohol during dinner.
As Alexis says, take it off the taboo list. If they can get it at home every night during dinner, why would they need to drink in the middle of a cornfield in a parked car like I did??
