New Avenues

These new times have had an interesting effect on my self-makeover. For one thing, I am not going shopping. For another, I am not changing my hair color every 3 months or so. All this has been leading to new avenues of creativity in the appearance sector.

I've been trying out a lot of new hairstyles. Inspired by pictures, outfits or just ideas.

Unfortunately this is not a great picture of this look. I did it on a whim one day and got SO many comments. I was really surprised. It's pretty 80's to me, although in certain contexts it could have a rockabilly feel. Definitely not an everyday look but a fun thing to throw into the mix.

Of course, now I am craving some hot rollers and more hair product. (All things lead to spending money don't they?)

I have also been playing with makeup a lot. Youtube is my new best friend, full of tutorials on makeup and hair looks. I keep trying to remember to take pictures but it is a losing battle.

For a person who used to take exactly 0 time to get ready in the morning a little over a year ago. I now spend about 20-30 mins on hair and makeup each day. But it is all about the self expression!

3 Things:
- gifts from parents received in a timely fashion
- opportunity to see student belly dance show at Fizz 3/1 for free (for me only, sorry y'alls!)
- happy husbands

I like the spotlight on the coffee pot in the background of the picture. Very artistic. :-)

Caring more about your appearance is a good thing! I should as well, alas, I'm not there yet. Plus, you have a better looking model to work with. :-)

Oh no - if only we had seen this post first! See - a disadvantage to parents actually remembering and doing something for your birthday in a timely fashion.

If you search a bit, you can find hot rollers at thrift stores.

I applaud you for the hair thing, that is the one area I can't be bothered! :P
