So far the week seems more like an extended weekend than a new lifestyle. Today Miss D was asking where her father was a lot. I guess she is used to us all being at home at the same time.
I had many plans to keep her on a preschool-esque daily schedule, complete with many learning activities, but my will to implement it is fading fast. There will be plenty of time to do that in September when she is back in school twice a week. Why not have one full month of a true summer vacation?
Monday we spent all day at a friends for an extended playdate. Today we went to the farmer's market in the morning and picked up fruit and veg for the week. We stopped by the library and loaded up on books. When we got home the first red tomato was there in the garden! After lunch and a brief attempt at a nap we went to the duck pond to feed the ducks. The ducks were not around but the fish were happy to nibble on the bread. We bought popsicles from a passing cart and Miss D had a blast running around the creek dropping leaves into the water and hopping on stones. For dinner I made Squash pizza and a salad with yogurt dressing.
Tomrrow we plan to hit the pool.
i could get used to this!

Makes sense to me - if she'll be back in school that soon, a leisurely month could be just what you and she need. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it so much.
Yes, it's very easy to get used to. And I don't know about you, but I rarely find it boring. We'll see if that changes when the kids are in school. Lisa
One is not unemployed for too long in their life from after they turn 16. You should enjoy every day of it. Work on the future periodically, but enjoy every day.
I'm with Joe
You are so living my dream right now *sigh*
s-kids and MIL head back home next week, so hopefully we'll get a chance to skyping again soon. It's been too long!
