Mothers are Wonderful
It's a little late to be talking about last weekend, but we had such a wonderful visit with my Mom. Friday we did the farm thing and that evening she stayed home with Miss D so Husband and I could go to a gathering for a friend of ours that happened to be visiting the same weekend. Saturday we put her to work as ALL of us painted Miss D's new room. (she is moving into the guest room) She chose two shades of purple and we also had to paint the ceiling white. Luckily, my mom has painted most of her own house herself so between her and husband we had a lot of experience going on! We pretty much finished the whole room in a single day. Sunday morning us ladies went to the farmers market to pick up a few things for the brunch we were having. My out-of-town friend and her husband came over and we had a leisurely dining experience in the yard. The weather was actually beautiful for a change! Mom had more time playing with Miss D as he and I drove our friends in the vert to their respective airports. We grilled burgers and the sweetest corn in the world for dinner. Monday the girls went to the Botanic Gardens where Mom got to take lots of pictures and Miss D and I played princess honeybee.
It was a perfect visit with a great balance of work, play, talking and relaxation. Can't wait to have her come again!

Looks like you guys had a great time, glad she was able to come up to visit.
Wow - that's a lot of stuff in one weekend. You have a lot of energy for a pregnant lady! I was surprised by how kid-friendly the Botanic Garden is (way better than the Field Museum for kids). E and J loved the giant fish that swim right up to the steps. Lisa
I had a great time. You, John and Yelena are wonderful company. We did a lot of things, but it still felt relaxed.
what a great weekend, I'm so glad you guys were able to do so much and still have lots of fun!
Look at those foot skills with the soccer ball - go Mom.
