Weekend of Friends

After last weekend's forced house arrest this weekend was an explosion of good weather and time to spend it with friends.

Saturday night brought an impromptu BBQ with Mr. and Mrs. H. Sunday morning was at their place with the Chicago Family. Mrs. H fixed up an insane amount of brunch foods (which kept us sated until dinner I might add) We all enjoyed it on their beautiful deck. Peaceful, mild and absolutely perfect start to a Sunday. Not to mention the rather strong bloody mary I fixed myself. With their homemade vegetable juice. (Hey- it's good for you!)

Then it was on to the Kegz's to watch the Bears game and let the kiddies play in their newly-landscaped and sodded yard. The difference is truly amazing. Looking forward to spending more time there next year...:)

CHANGE OF TOPIC- READER REQUEST

In other news, I am planning two (count 'em TWO!) baby showers in the next couple of months. If you have any clever shower ideas (themes, activities, anything) please leave them in the comments. Thanks in advance!

I can't tell you how happy I am that I have absolutely nothing to contribute to the shower information request.

Sounds like a relaxing weekend! Good for you. Decks are a wonderful thing.

Hanging out in the outdoors with friends, food and booze - heaven.

I am against baby showers. It is nearly impossible to find a shower head big enough to let a baby through. You have to source a ton of babies to have a decent flow from the shower. And I don't think the babies really like being showered into the tub.

I thought decorating onesies was a pretty fun (and useful!) baby shower activity. Charlie wore homemade onesies for the first year of his life. :)

sounds like a fantastic weekend, well deserved after last weekend. What happened to the belly dancing performance though - is that postponed?
