Yesterday i walked from my office to Prentice to see a baby born on Wednesday. I was really kind of surprised at my reaction, because I went absolutely gaga about this baby.
Now I have met many a newborn since having my own and normally my reaction is like - aww cute. Ok see you in 3 months when you're interesting. Including a newborn I met only a month ago.
I suspect a lot of it has to do with the fact that this baby resembled Miss D when she was born in a lot of ways. Very similar size, full head of dark hair, big cheeks....
I was curious as to whether other people have had similar experiences. If you're a Mom do you go nuts over any baby you meet?
3 Things:
- This sandwich: Mushroom, Goat Cheese and Truffle oil Panini
- Husbands to deal with seepage in the basement
- Hair Dye (where did these greys come from?)

Last time your sister felt that gaga over a baby, we had one ourselves 10 months later.
I'm fascinated by newborns because I think they are incredible - the teeny hands and fingernails get me in particular. But, it's interesting, I wouldn't describe the feeling I get as "gaga". I remember getting a sort of "high" when smelling my own babies. They seemed particularly succulent to me. But, generally, I just sort of like to look at newborns and marvel at them. On the other hand, teeny puppies and kittens melt my heart! Lisa
Mmm, that sandwich sounds good. I've managed to make paninis once since we came back from Rome, by heating up to cast iron pans and squishing the sandwich between them.
SRM- I don't even heat up the pan on top. Just use it as a weight and then flip the sandwich halfway through.
