Yard 1 year later

A recent post from my Aunt B, made me realize that I've been wanting to share how much our yard has changed since last year. We really made a very small investment (probably under $1K all told including patio and furniture)and it makes such a huge difference. We spend so much of our time out in our yard. On the weekends we may eat both lunch and dinner out there. I go out in the mornings to read or talk on the phone. Miss D scampers in the sprinkler or the kiddie pool or just runs around. It was definitely worth every penny- and probably more!

It's amazing how much it's grown in since just last year. To refresh your memory, here's what it looke like when we planted it last spring:

And here's what it looks like now:

An added unplanned bonus: I purposely requested mainly native plants that wouldn't require a lot of effort on our part to keep up. All of them attract a lot of bees* which make me feel like we are contributing to the ecosystem. ;)

*We've managed to keep Miss D pretty cool about the bees. She knows that if you don't bother them- they won't bother you.

Great picture of the Coneflower with the bee. I can see why you enjoy sitting out there. You did a great job.

Nicely done. Time lapse photography with the shutter speed set at one year. :-)

As a frequent guest and enjoyer of your backyard I can provide supporting comments on what a nice space it is.

Beautiful! And I loved seeing the change. It's so nice when a (relatively) small investment in time and money pays off so much in your life.
